The special education department at Irondale high school works hard to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students with special needs. In an effort to ensure all Irondale students receive an enriched education, special education instructors implement and advocate for the use of differentiated instruction, measurable curriculums, and compassionate instruction.  The needs of students on an individual education plan are met through a variety of creative and effective modifications including concepts based instruction, supplemental core-curriculum courses, and service learning/work experience related instruction.
