Cross Country Skiing

Class Description:
We have a large selection of skis, boots and poles in various kids sizes.  However, students are welcomed and encouraged to bring their own skis to camp for their personal use during the class.  After a lesson on wearing skis, moving forward, going up and down hills, and getting up after a wipe out.  Students head out of camp on to LEC's cross country ski trails.  Students stay in a line as they follow the naturalist through the wintery forest.

Learner Objectives:
1) Students are introduced to the proper use of Nordic skiing equipment.
2) Students are introduced to basic Nordic skiing movements and problem solving.
3) Students practice use of equipment and Nordic skiing motions on a trail.
