Class of 2012 "Nothing is as real as a dream. The world can change around you, but your
dreams will not. Responsibilities need
not erase it. Duties need not obscure
it. Because the dream is within you, no
one can take that away." ~ Tom Clancy

Afraid that you are going to miss something? Unsure of what to do
during your senior year to graduate and apply for college? Check
out the senior planning calendar, this calendar gives you a good idea of
what to expect and what to plan for each month of the year. Please
refer to the Daily Announcements, or this page, for specific dates of events.College Visits The Career Center is a great resource for seniors. The Career Center is located next to the Student Services Office. The Career Centeris a meeting place for college representatives when they visit Mounds View High School. College visits are made possible so that students may have a chance to ask questions and get to know a school from a person representing the particular school. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the school of your choice. If you have not decided upon a college, visits also provide a chance for you to get exposure to a large number of possible colleges. Seniors are strongly encouraged to visit the Career Center page frequently and check the Daily Announcements for college visit information. Scholarships & Financial Aid There are many types of scholarships available to students. For information about scholarship opportunities and financial aid, visit the Career Center. Application Deadlines It is very important that students are aware of application deadlines for every school to which they are applying. Generally speaking, we urge all seniors to have any college applications that are due January 1 or earlier completed and turned into the guidance office by December 1st for official transcripts and dean recommendations. (Remember there will not be anyone in the guidance office to process your applications over Winter Break. Students who have deadlines of January 15, February 1, or later may turn in applications after the holidays.) Some students who are applying for early decision or early action, or who are applying to the military academies or ROTC programs, may have deadlines of November 1, November 15 or December 1. The University of Minnesota Priority deadline is December 15. Visit the Career Center website for college application procedures 15 Things to Keep In Mind When Planning for College This site has proven to be a nice resource for students.
