Update 6/3: Speech sessions are almost over for the 2012-2013 School Year. All students made great progress! Students have been provided with summer activity calendars based on their area and level. Summer schedules get busy, and should be filled with fun, but ANY practice is better than no practice. Students who bring back any calendars next year with at least 1 completed activity will receive a small reward for their efforts.

About Speech and Language

Communication is so vital in all aspects of our lives, including your child's education. The purpose of school-based speech and language services is to improve communication so as to promote academic and social success in school.

In the speech room, we work on speech sounds, understanding and using language (through grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, etc.), cognition, fluency, social skills, and voice.

I will update this site often with different homework activities and news about what we're working on in the classroom, so check back!

I see students in one-on-one to small groups in my room throughout the day. I also visit students in their rooms to monitor communication progress in the classroom. My hours vary due to meetings and working across two schools, but generally my hours are 8:00 am- 4:00 pm.
